We're Still Here

I think I might be the worst blogger ever! I love reading everyone else's blogs, but for some reason I never think to update mine. Probably because we don't do too many exciting things that I think anyone would care to read about. I do have a super cute baby though, so I'll post some updates pictures this time! We have been busy the past couple of months visiting grandparents, going to Little Gym, and getting ready for Easter and some upcoming trips. We are headed back to Texas this weekend to spend Easter weekend with my family, then the next weekend we will be in Dallas for a Jimmy Buffet concert. We went two years ago, and it was so much fun! Aaron is off to Washington D.C. the weekend after that, and then we have a big trip to Destin, FL, planned in May. This will be Riley's first vacation, and first time to go swimming. I can't wait to see her in her little bathing suit with her super chubby legs! I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures of her when we are there. That's about it from up here in Oklahoma. Hopefully we will get to have Spring at some point. It's going to be 25 degrees tonight....what???!!! Below are some new photos. I'll try to get better at this whole blog thing:-)

She's such a big girl in her highchair!
She's very flexible!

I told you she was chunky!

She love her pink swing!

6 Months!!!

Riley is 6 months old today!!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! It seems like just yesterday that she was my sweet little newborn. I love this stage though. She constantly entertains me with sweet smiles and laughs. She seems to grow bigger each day, and is able to do more and more things. I wish I could just bottle her up and keep her this age forever, but I know that it will only be more fun as she grows. Unfortunately, to celebrate the day we are going to the doctor to get shots! I know it's necessary, but I hate having to do that to her. She's always so happy when we get there, and I just feel like I should warn her:-) I'm sure we'll both get through it.

So, Happy 1/2 Birthday my sweet girl. I love you more than you'll ever know!

(I left my camera in Texas, so I'll have to post pictures when I get it back.)

Cora Paige

I came across this family's blog yesterday and felt compelled to read more. The first post I saw was "Cora is with Jesus today". I went back and read this family's entire story, and Icried the entire time. Their beautiful little girl was diagnosed with cancer 3 weeks ago, and passed away on Sunday, Feb. 8th. Though I don't know this family my heart breaks for them. I can't imagine the pain they are going through, and the strength it took to handle these past few weeks. I think now that I am a mom these things just hit home and make you appreciate your children even more. I'm so thankful that God has given me such a beautiful, healthy child. If you would like to know more about this family their blog address is http://www.themcclenahans.blogspot.com/. Below is a picture of their family and their sweet baby, Cora Paige. Please pray for them.

Finally...the First Post of the New Year!

So I have been really slacking with this blog of late, but I vow to get better. We were gone so much during the holidays that I'm just now getting back into the swing of things. We had a great first Christmas with Riley. We spent time with Aaron's family in Durant, OK, and then the rest of the holidays with my family in Texas. Riley got more toys than I've ever seen a 4 month old have, but she loves them all! We started the holiday season off with a Christmas party at our friends, the Spicer's, house. They always throw a great party, and this year two special guests stopped by.

Santa came to our house a few days early this year, and he brought Riley some fun toys. She didn't really know what was going on, but I'm sure she still had fun!

We also had a playdate with our friends from Texas. This was the first time we had all gotten together with the kids.

More photos of Christmas at the grandparents:

And finally, here's a picture of our other little baby, Landry. He stole the Boppy one night and decided that it was a good napping spot.

I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year!

Our Trip Home

Well, I haven't blogged in awhile because I have been in Texas for the last 3 weeks. Aaron was busy working in the field on a big project, so Riley & I decided to visit my family. We had little trips on the weekends to see Daddy, but the majority of my time was spent in Belton, being cooked for and cared for by my parents. No matter how old you are it's always nice to have your mom take care of you! My parent's live in the dark ages, so I didn't have access to a computer while I was away, so it's been awhile since I've been on here.

Here is Maw-maw and Riley.
Daddy & Riley
We did lots of fun things on our visit. We visited our friends, Lynsey & Daphne, and Riley got to swing in her first outdoor swing. She loved it! See the excitement on her face...

We also had lots of fun times at Maw-maw's and Grandaddy's house. Everything there is so funny..
Riley also took her first Christmas pictures. Here is a photo of her in her pretty Christmas dress.

(She's become obsessed with sucking on her fist!)

We visited our friends, Tina & Robbie, and met their baby girl, Tyson. We have decided that Tyson and Riley are going to be best friends, so I hope they actually like each other. Here is a picture of them in their matching jammies.

Tyson and Riley had their first playtime together. Though Riley looks like a giant baby next to Tyson, Tyson seems to be the more aggressive of the two. They got in a little fight at playtime...
They made up though, and are best friends again!

We also had a great Thanksgiving holiday. Here is a picture of Riley in her Thanksgiving outfit. Now, we are ready for the winter and the upcoming Christmas holidays. Here is Riley in her new pink winter outfit.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
